Record freeze frame data showing operating conditions when the fault occurred. Visually inspect the speed/timing sensor and its harness for obvious damage, oil contamination, or loose connections.

Step 2: Electrical Testing With the ignition OFF, disconnect the speed/timing sensor connector. Using a digital multimeter (DMM), measure resistance across the sensor terminals (typically 200-1000 ohms depending on model – consult service manual specifications).
